Other Half Brewing Company (Rochester)

Most people by now know Other Half produces AMAZING beer. And the Rochester location (actually in Bloomfield ~35 minutes SE of Rochester), which opened in summer 2019, is no different. Everything we sampled was fantastic!! If you are a fan of IPA's this is a MUST visit. They also have very good beers in other styles but one look at the board and you know this is an IPA stronghold. Only problem is the location is a bit out of the way. The benefit is the lack of crowds or longs waits (much different than a Brooklyn can release). As you can see on the Sunday we visited the place was empty (luckily we got there before 2 mid-size buses arrived for a reserved party). Another downside is there is no food option...this is just about excellent beer. Also we wish they offered flights. Only 4oz samples or full pours, which were much better cost per volume, were available. With the samples, we really needed to have a way to mark which beer was which...very easy to mix them up. Good thing they all tasted great but still made purchasing cans to-go even more challenging. I guess that is why we had to purchase over 2 cases. We assume wait times will start to occur at this location over the next year (they're prepared as they already have a bouncer at the door) so visit OH the next time you are in the Rochester area. It is one of the few places with such a large selection of top beers which you can get in, sample beers and buy stuff to-go within minutes. Take advantage of it while you can. And have a designated driver for this trek.
