Broken Symmetry is only 3 miles from the Danbury Ice Arena. There are no Broken Symmetry signs so just look for the red old train station and you are there....even the building only displays their symbol. We were there on a sunny saturday afternoon. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. We were fortunate to not have to wait long for one of the few tables completely in the shade. We stopped here because they have a nice lunch menu - mostly mexican style food. We were very happy with the fish tacos (messy but good), avocado salad (not large but very fresh) and the nachos (which were dense).
As for the beer, they have a solid selection of styles; including our first try of a Patersbier (AKA "the Lawnmower beer of Trappist Monks" as it is much more sessionable then anything else the Monks brew)...it was pretty good and favorable on a hot day. Everything sounded very good like the Berliner Weisse with Pomegranate and the NE IPA's, and the Saison but nothing blew us away. They were all enjoyable but the very subtle and sneaky 9% Baltic Porter was the best of the bunch...still amazed how well masked the abv was.
No flights here at the time but have the option of full pours (16oz) or 10oz. We did get some cans to go and have since tried them...once again average or above but nothing we would go out of our way to get.
Overall this is a nice place to hang with a small group and perfect if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. As a bonus there is a train that seems to pass every 30-45 minutes which is cool the first few times.
