New England Sports Center is one of the largest skating complexes on the east coast. We’ve been here multiple times for tournaments and have been excited with the growth of local breweries. With each trip we have new breweries to try but now every future trip will always include a visit to Ground Effect. We had the pleasure of being served by Lindsay who is personable, down to earth and really knows her stuff. Full of info and very intune with making sure every patron has a great experience. We also briefly met Tim the head brewer and was impressed with his business/fun balance. He was at the bar but casually talking with colleagues about how to continue to make GF better. Overall we found the lineup of beer to be good to very good. They typically have a food truck during peak hours. The brewery is modern, clean, not too large but well thought out to maximize the space provided. Fun things like giant connect four and foosball are great to pass the time with a small group. Compared to other options, Ground Effect just has the best mix of proximity to the rink, excellent variety of beer and an enjoyable atmosphere to enjoy your beer.
Bottom Line: You are bound to find yourself at New England Sports Center for a hockey tournament so visit what we believe is the best local brewery – and get some beer to share with friends back at the hotel.
