This is by far the closest brewery to Icenter Salem at 2.7 miles. We love the proximity and the beer was ok but it really should be the bbq that brings you here. Border is located in a small strip mall. This is probably a cool place to hangout inside as we like the barrel table and very cool bar stools. They did the most with what they have available outside with several picnic tables with umbrellas. We were very happy to get flights to try. Border has a nice selection of 12 beers. We asked for the most popular ones to try. With all our flights we covered almost every offering. We enjoyed everything except the Pepper's Jalapeno IPA...we were told this is a crowd favorite so we had to try it but these beers seem always to fall in the Love or Hate category. Nice change of pace but not our cup of tea. Our favs turned out to be the Pecan Brown (nice and smooth) and the ESB (may have been better since it was a hot day). Even better than the beer was the food. The bbq and wings were very good.
Nothing here was spectacular but it is the whole package that makes it worth the trip. Proximity to the rink, laid back environment, quantity of beer styles represented and great food to pair with the beer.
