Argilla should have scored higher. It has most of the things we are looking for...convenience, great beer, ample space for a group and good food. Unfortunately one individual can really sour your experience. We came in after the lunch rush with a larger group for food and drinks. The place was half filled so plenty of space for our crew. However the staff worker, who we won't mention by name, seemed more annoyed then happy to see us. He was rude, slow and overall uninterested in helping us. Most of our group worked in the food and beer industry so we understand the pressure of the arrival of a larger group (~25) but also recognize the opportunity to make more in tips, revenue for your establishment and a positive first impression for many new customers. These things were not important to this guy. Fortunately for Argilla they have Pete who worked behind the bar area. He is everything a brewery could want in an employee: happy, welcoming, attentive, informative and set the expectations that the food might come out a little slower with a larger group...which were all fine with when communicated properly. Pete helped this rating and allowed us to focus on the beer and food. The beer lineup was very good. Only one that fell short was Wavy Grainy (Toasted Amber) but the others made up for it. The most notable was Electric Boogaloo (dbl IPA) which was solid...tough to go wrong with a blend of Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic hops. We had a flight but Pete also said we need to try their Stout....once again, thank you Pete. This is just a great drinking stout; no strong chocolate, fire pit, marshmallow or coffee taste....just a great well balance stout. Final beer to note was their pumpkin...few fans of the style but this was mild and pleasing...no over the top pumpkin pie taste. As for the food there were no complaints once we got it. Per the name, they are known for their pizza...which was legit and quite good. Call ahead and see if Pete is working, he will enrich your experience.
